Vol. 361 No. 11

Written Answers. - Kilmainham (Dublin) Jail.

28.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is satisfied with the level of public access to Kilmainham jail; if he has any plans to review the role of the trustees of the jail; if he intends to appoint any new trustees; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Kilmainham jail is vested in the Commissioners of Public Works who have leased the premises, subject to certain conditions, to the trustees of the Kilmainham jail restoration committee. The management of the jail is a matter for the trustees. I am reviewing the position of the trustees at present and cannot make any further comment on the matter at the moment.
