Vol. 361 No. 11

Written Answers. - County Kildare Proposed National School.

171.

asked the Minister for Education the current position with regard to planning, tender and other procedures in relation to the proposed primary school at Allen, Kilmeague, County Kildare; the number of stages still to be processed in relation to this project; how long each stage normally takes; and when it is proposed to allow the project to go to tender.

My Department is at present examining a sketch plan which was submitted on 16 October 1985 in relation to the proposed new national school building for Allen, County Kildare, and will communicate further with the school authorities when this examination has been completed. It is not possible to give a time table for the completion of the remaining stages of the planning process, which will include approval of the sketch scheme and costings, agreement on an appropriate local contribution and the preparation of contract documents. It is also not possible to say when the project may commence.
