Vol. 361 No. 12

Written Answers. - Family Planning Services.

25.

asked the Minister for Health if he will make a statement on the progress made so far by the health boards in implementing the provisions of the Health (Family Planning) (Amendment) Act, 1985.

The Act was brought into effect on 1 October 1985. Health boards have been asked to prepare plans for the development of family planning services in their regions, having regard to the provisions of the Amendment Act. The majority of boards have submitted plans to my Department and the boards have indicated that they will be submitting reports in the near future. The plans prepared by the boards will be examined within my Department and, where necessary aspects of their development plans will be subject of discussion with the relevant boards.
