There is no post in my Department with the title "Agricultural Officer". However the Deputy may be referring to the staff of the Farm Tax Commissioner. (Appointments to that staff are made by the Minister for Finance). A few months ago, as a result of public advertisement, 90 appointments were made to the temporary posts of assistant farm assessor. Due to the resignation of 11 appointees for various reasons, steps are being taken with a view to making further appointments from amongst the original applicants. It is not intended to advertise again in the near future.
