Vol. 362 No. 1

Written Answers. - Farmers' Incomes.

25.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he has any proposals to deal with the serious decline in farmers' incomes especially farmers under the western package scheme; and if he will arrange to make an increased grant under the scheme.

The western package is due for review at intervals of four years and the first such review is now proceeding. In light of experience gained since the measure was introduced consideration is being given to changes necessary which will stimulate the development of agriculture in the west. An announcement will follow on completion of the review.
