The additional requirements relating to increased pipe sizes and storage included in Kerry County Council's recent approval to this scheme are currentlly under examination in my Department. My Department's local inspector will contact the group as regards further progress on the scheme when this examination is concluded.

95.

asked the Minister for the Environment when he will be in a position to allocate grants for the improvement of Dingle water supply.

The initiative in formulating proposals for the improvement of public water supplies rests with the local authorities concerned. There are no proposals in my Department from Kerry County Council for the improvement of the Dingle water supply scheme and accordingly the question of providing finance does not arise.
