Vol. 362 No. 2

Written Answers. - Rathescar (Louth) Group Water Scheme.

43.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reasons for the delay in giving sanction to the Rathescar group water scheme, County Louth; his Department's financial contribution; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The allocation of grants will be considered as soon as Louth County Council confirm that they are prepared to pay a special contribution of £45,150 to this group in respect of headworks and increased pipe sizes in the proposed scheme, as recommended by my Department on 8 November. It is currently estimated that, if grants are provisionally approved for this scheme, the initial allocation will be approximately £76,200. There has been no avoidable delay by my Department in processing this scheme.
