Vol. 362 No. 9

Written Answers. - Employment Appeals Tribunal.

178.

asked the Minister for Labour when payment will be made in a case decided by the Employment Appeals Tribunal (details supplied) in August 1984 in County Clare.

I understand that an appeal by the person concerned, as regards entitlement to a redundancy lump sum under the Redundancy Payments Acts, was listed for hearing by the Employment Appeals Tribunal in August 1984, but that the hearing did not go ahead as the parties involved notified the tribunal that a settlement had been reached. The tribunal did not, therefore, issue a decision in the case.

In view of the withdrawal of the appeal from the tribunal, it is not clear what further action, if any, can be taken, but I will arrange to have the matter investigated further by my Department and I will write to the Deputy in due course.
