Vol. 362 No. 9

Written Answers. - Ceimicí Teoranta.

32.

asked the Minister for Industry, Trade, Commerce and Tourism if he is aware of mounting concern for the jobs of the employees of Ceimicí Teoranta, Riverstown, Cooley, because of the Government's indecision regarding the provision of funds for the installation of new equipment in the Cooley plant.

Over the past three years new equipment has been installed at Cooley at a cost of around £700,000, of which £600,000 was provided by the Exchequer. The aim of this refurbishment programme is to reduce Ceimicí's costs and to increase the output of potable alcohol.

Question No. 35 re-entered for oral reply.
