Vol. 362 No. 12

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 23 and 1. By agreement the following arrangements shall apply in relation to No. 23:

(1) The question necessary to bring the proceedings on Vote No. 47 to a conclusion shall be put not later than 12.30 p.m. today.

(2) The question necessary to bring the proceedings on Vote 38 to a conclusion shall be put not later than 2 p.m. today.

(3) The question necessary to bring the proceedings on Vote 41 to a conclusion shall be put not later than 3 p.m.

Also by agreement the following arrangements shall apply in relation to No. 1:

(1) The statement of each Member called on shall not exceed 45 minutes.

(2) A Member who has concluded a statement on this report shall not be called on to make a further statement.

In view of the very serious deterioration in the position of B & I, would the Taoiseach ask the Minister for Communications to make a statement to the House indicating what he is doing to try to alleviate the situation?

This is not in order on the Order of Business. At any rate, we will be taking the Communications Estimate today which will afford an opportunity to Deputy Wilson and the Minister to discuss it.

You have opened a little door.

I merely stated a fact.
