Vol. 362 No. 13

Written Answers. - VAT Repayment.

63.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for Finance when a VAT payment, which is overdue, will be made to a company (details supplied) in County Donegal.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an audit has been arranged with the person concerned for Tuesday, 17 December 1985 in connection with his claim to repayment of value added tax. An audit previously arranged for 30 October 1985 was cancelled by the trader's accountants.

I have been further advised that part of whatever amount is allowable on completion of the audit will be set against declared unpaid liability and any balance will be withheld pending receipt of overdue returns.
