asked the Minister for Education if she will make a statement on the reasons for the delay in dealing with the extension of the Kilcolman national school, County Limerick, having regard to the fact that this extension was sanctioned over 12 months ago.

My Department's professional staff are engaged on the preparation of a sketch scheme for Kilcolman national school, County Limerick. It was necessary in recent months to carry out a review of enrolment trends at this school, as the original expectations as to the number of pupils in attendance had not been realised. This review, which will shortly be concluded, may require a modification of the brief. I have asked that the project should be expedited as much as possible and arrangements made to consult with the school authorities as to the developments.
