Vol. 363 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Wexford Redundancy Payments.

56.

asked the Minister for Labour when redundancy payments and minimum notice payments will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford, further to the liquidation of the company in question and the reason other former staff who were made redundant subsequent to her having been paid their entitlements.

The initial application to my Department by the employee concerned for payment of a statutory redundancy lump sum was not accompanied by the necessary forms. However, these forms were subsequently submitted and the employee was paid her lump sum entitlement on 22 January 1986 from the Redundancy and Employers' Insolvency Fund. Payment was also made from the fund to the receiver of the company on 15 January 1986 to enable him to pay the employee her minimum notice award.
