The Hours of Work Bill is currently before the Dáil. It is proposed to introduce in the near future: The Extension of Worker Participation (State Enterprises) Act, 1977; Safety, Health and Welfare (Offshore Installations) Bill, 1985; in addition, work is progressing on a Bill to amend the Unfair Dismissals Act, 1977; and legislation to give effect to the Barrington Commission's proposals on occupational health and safety in the workforce.
