Vol. 363 No. 7

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) School.

151.

asked the Minister for Education if representations have been received from the Tallaght community school, Tallaght, Dublin 24, regarding necessary additional teaching staff and the absence of a remedial teacher at the school for some years past, in view of the fact that children have had to be sent home early from the school due to the unavailability of teaching staff; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The board of management of the school in question appealed against the allocation of teaching posts authorised for the school for the current school year. An increased allocation has been sanctioned and the board has been so informed.

Included in the allocation is a post for remedial education which is over and above the normal allocation for the school. My Department has not been made aware that children have had to be sent home early from this school.
