Vol. 363 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Galway Water Schemes.

29.

asked the Minister for the Environment the progress being made on the consideration of the design for Claregalway group water scheme with particular reference to the request by Galway County Council on 20 March 1985 for approval to lay a ten inch pipe to Claregalway as part of the mid-Galway regional scheme, stage four, zone four.

I refer to my reply to Question No. 59 of 10 December 1985. I understand that the group is now awaiting progress on the public scheme before proceeding with its own scheme.

30.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in approving contract documents for Costelloe Gleannachmurrin regional water supply scheme, Connemara, County Galway, which were submitted by Galway County Council on 27 June 1984.

There has been no avoidable delay in dealing with this proposal by my Department. Following examination of the contract documents my Department requested Galway County Council to submit additional information which has not been received to date.

31.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a decision will be made on the application for a special capital allocation made by Galway County Council to enable water, bathroom and toilet facilities to be provided in County Council houses in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application has not been received from Galway County Council for a special capital allocation for the purpose indicated by the Deputy.
