asked the Minister for Agriculture when compensation, depopulation and restocking grants, amounting to a total of £4,200 will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An essential precondition of payment of reactor grants — accepted by every herdowner when he or she applies — is that reactor animals must be delivered to a registered meat export premises. Since this condition was not fulfilled in respect of the 20 animals involved in this case there are no grants outstanding.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a farm modernisation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

The grant of £3,073 in this case has been paid.
