Vol. 363 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

55.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in paying a reconstruction grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cavan.

The application in this case related to the 1981 scheme of house improvement grants and was in respect of the provision of a bathroom, an extra bedroom to relieve overcrowding and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the basic fabric of the house. A grant in respect of the bathroom and repairs could not be allowed as a previous grant had been paid within the statutory ten year waiting period. Neither could a grant be allowed in respect of the bedroom as overcrowding did not exist. The applicant has been so informed.
