Vol. 363 No. 10

Written Answers. - Registration for Tax.

94.

asked the Minister for Finance in view of the requirements under the recently announced Department of the Environment new house and house improvement grant schemes that builders are registered for income tax and VAT, if he will request the Revenue Commissioners to expedite decisions on registration of applications from builders.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that applications for registration for tax purposes are dealt with within two to three days of receipt of the applications. It may, however, take a further seven to ten days for some new entries to be recorded in the computer. If the Deputy is aware of undue delay in any particular case and supplies details I will have the position examined.
