Vol. 363 No. 11

Written Answers. - Disabled Persons' Maintenance Allowance.

80.

asked the Minister for Health the reason a disabled benefit pension is only being paid at the rate of £30 per week to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who has only a very small income from his 20 acres of land; and if he will reinvestigate the matter.

The current maximum personal rate of disabled persons maintenance allowance is £41.55 per week. The person referred to by the Deputy receives the allowance at the lower rate of £31.90 due to income derived from his farm. Health boards must take all income including income from farming into account when determining the rate at which the allowance is to be paid.
