Vol. 363 No. 11

Written Answers. - Skerries (Dublin) Crime Level.

113.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware of the serious concern of the people of Skerries regarding the crime situation in their area; and his proposals to improve the situation.

Limerick East): I appreciate that there is concern in the Skerries area, as there is in other areas, at the present level of crime. However, provisional crime figures for 1985 for the Garda sub-district of Skerries indicate some decrease in crime in comparison with 1984 and 1983 figures.

Garda strength in the sub-district of Skerries has been increased from one sergeant and five gardaí in 1983 to one sergeant and nine gardaí at present. The crime position and policing needs of Skerries will continue to be kept under review by the Garda authorities.
