Vol. 363 No. 13

Written Answers. - New Housing Grants Scheme.

55.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will extend the new Government housing grants to allow persons whose homes are only in need of re-wiring to qualify for grant aid as in the case of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6 whose house was built in 1948, who is elderly and who will not otherwise be able to afford to replace dangerous wiring.

I will bear the point raised by the Deputy in mind in any further review of the new grants scheme.
