Vol. 363 No. 13

Written Answers. - Road Freight Certificate.

105.

asked the Minister for Communications if he will issue a road freight certificate to a person (details supplied) in County Galway who has held a certificate for a number of years and who has had no response to his application this year.

The application for renewal of the road freight certificate in question disclosed that the holder, who does not hold a merchandise licence, is engaged in haulage operations for which such a licence is required. The road freight certificate was issued subject to conditions, one of which was that the holder must comply with the provisions of the Road Transport Act, 1933, as amended, in relation to merchandise licensing requirements. Further examination of the application is necessary before a decision can be taken. My Department will communicate with the applicant shortly in the matter.
