Vol. 364 No. 1

Written Answers. - Flower Bulbs Importation.

195.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the disease prevention precautions which are taken by him with flower bulbs being imported into the country.

All flower bulbs imported into the country are required by statutory regulations to be accompanied by an official phytosanitary certificate from the country of origin stating that they are free from harmful diseases and pests. Inspectors of the Department of Agriculture carry out check inspections to ensure that the regulations are observed.
