Vol. 364 No. 1

Written Answers. - Maintenance of Health Premises.

106.

asked the Minister for Health if he is satisfied that health premises are being maintained to an adequate standard, so as to achieve acceptable accommodation for patients and to avoid excessive expenditure on reconstruction/replacement in the future.

I am satisfied that health premises are, in general, maintained by the health agencies to an adequate standard. Obviously, not every premises will provide as high a level of accommodation as would be ideal and premises do from time to time require improvement or replacement. Funds for such projects are provided under the health capital programme, in accordance with priority of need and the availability of funds.
