Vol. 364 No. 2

Written Answers. - Funding of Magazine.

88.

asked the Minister for Education whether his Department provides funding for the Irish language magazine An Gael Óg; if this magazine is circulated in second level or primary schools; if so, the extent to which it is; if the permission of his Department is required for the circulation of magazines in schools; and the name and address of the publishers of An Gael Óg.

My Department does not provide funding for An Gael Óg. The magazine is intended mainly for students in second level schools.

Information about the extent of the circulation of the magazine in schools is not available to my Department. The Department's permission for the circulation of the magazine would not be required. The magazine is published by the Christian Brothers.
