Vol. 364 No. 3

Written Answers. - Garda Man Hours.

59.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state in respect of each Garda division, the total number of man hours worked in each month from July to December 1985 and the comparable figures for each of the previous three years.

Records are not maintained in such a way as to enable the information sought by the Deputy to be readily provided. I am informed that compilation of the details sought from the available records would take an inordinate amount of time and would involve diverting Garda manpower from more pressing duties. In the circumstances I do not think I would be justified in asking the Garda to undertake such work.
