Vol. 364 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers.

Before taking questions let me remind the House that at the conclusion of questions yesterday there were rather forceful complaints from Deputy Tomás Mac Giolla and Deputy Michael Barrett, Assistant Whip of the Fianna Fáil Party, about the lack of progress and about the hardship on Deputies who had questions down which were not being reached. If we are to make progress it can be made only by cooperation with the Chair towards fewer supplementaries, shorter supplementaries without any preamble and, in a number of cases, shorter replies from Ministers. I am asking for the co-operation of the House in getting the progress so much desired all over the House.
