Vol. 364 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

80.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if she has received an application for a grant from the Doon Community Council in respect of Doon community hall, County Limerick; when this grant will be paid; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

An application under the scheme for grants to voluntary bodies in the social services area was received in 1985 but because of the large volume of applications received it was not possible to make a grant to the organisation concerned on that occasion. The scheme for grants will continue in 1986 with an increased allocation of £750,000 and an advertisement inviting applications appeared in the national press on Friday, 28 February 1986. It is open to the organisation concerned to make a further application this year.
