Vol. 364 No. 5

Written Answers. - Flexi-Milk.

90.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the amount of flexi-milk which was available in 1985; the criteria used in allocating it to co-operatives; the names of the co-operatives; and the amount allocated to each co-operative.

The quantity of flexi-milk for 1985-86 will not be known until detailed figures for the 12 months ending on 31 March are available. The amounts in each co-operative differ and are dependent on quantities becoming available as a result of producers within the co-operative ceasing or reducing deliveries below the levels of their quotas. The flexi-milk is to be distributed by the co-operatives to special eligible categories of producers in accordance with the general guidelines laid down by my Department. The distribution arrangements for 1985-86 were set out in a notice published in the national newspaper on 9 August last.
