Vol. 364 No. 7

Written Answers. - FCA Recruitment

55.

asked the Minister for Defence if he is aware that FCA numbers have been declining over the past three years due to the fact that only one week's annual training is now provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As part of the programme for achieving reductions in the level of public expenditure, recruitment to the FCA was suspended during 1983. During 1984 and 1985, however, recruitment to replace wastage has taken place and there has been no significant variation in the strength of the force during that period.
