Vol. 364 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

137.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the reason a farm modernisation grant has not yet been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary; when this will be paid; and the amount which will be paid.

The local office of the Department has not yet been notified by the applicant that the works approved on 5 January 1983 have been completed. When notification is received a final inspection will be carried out and if the work is satisfactorily completed an appropriate grant will be paid. As the works were not completed before the expiry date of the applicant's farm development plan, viz. 30 June 1983, a reduced rate of grant will apply. The applicant also received outline approval on 9 February 1983 for a second project. He was required to complete the project and notify the Farm Development Service accordingly by 31 December 1983. As the applicant has not done this, a grant will not be payable for this project.
