I propose to take Questions Nos. 26 and 27 together. The numbers of staff employed in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for the years 1980-85 are as follows: 1980, 16; 1981, 16; 1982, 17; 1983, 17; 1984, 16; 1985, 16.
Two legal assistants are on career breaks with effect from 1 August 1984 and 1 July 1985, respectively.
The Director has made certain proposals in relation to the provision of additional staff and expertise and these are under consideration at present.
