Vol. 364 No. 10

Written Answers. - Voluntary Organisations Grants.

145.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the financial support given to the AIM group for family law reform by her Department each year since 1983, and the proposed financial allocation for the group this year.

No grant has been paid by my Department to the organisation concerned since 1983.

The only scheme under which grants are paid to voluntary organisations by my Department is the scheme of grants to such organisations in the social services area for once-off projects. This scheme will continue in 1986 and an advertisement inviting applications appeared in the national press on Friday, 28 February 1986. If the organisation referred to consider that it has a project which would meet the criteria for payment of a grant it is open to it to submit an application to my Department. An application form and information leaflet has been issued to the organisation.
