Recent replies to questions concerning VAT yield from the construction industry have emphasised that the information cannot be furnished except as estimates based on non-Revenue statistical data. Bearing this in mind, estimates of VAT yield from buildings and construction work for the periods in question are as follows: 1 May to 31 December 1985, £47 million; 1 May to 31 December 1984, £23 million.
