Vol. 365 No. 3

Written Answers. - Cabra (Dublin) Garda Strength.

50.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will, in consultation with the Garda Commissioner, have the Garda strength at the Cabra Garda station reviewed in view of the disproportionate numbers of gardaí, out of that cohort of gardaí who are assigned to commitments for protection duty.

The detailed deployment of Garda manpower is a matter for the Garda authorities who have informed me that the allocation of gardaí to Cabra station takes account of the demands which arise from protection duties. They have also informed me that Garda strength at Cabra station has been increased by five over the past few months and that the matter of strength there will be kept under review.
