The preparation of contract documents for the proposed extension to Ballingarry national school, County Tipperary, is being undertaken by my Department's professional staff and it is expected that they will be completed in about three months' time. The question of the invitation of tenders will then arise for consideration and a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities as early as possible. I am not in a position, at this stage, to say when building works may commence.
My Department had hoped to make better progress on the preparation of contract documents but this was not possible due to the large number of projects at the various planning stages.
