A harbour improvement scheme, which included the provision of ladders and a powered winch was completed at Liscannor in 1983, with the aid of a 75 per cent grant from my Department. A report prepared by the Clare county engineer on the future development of the fishing industry in Clare generally is at present being examined by my Department and until this examination has been completed I cannot say what my Department's position will be in relation to the further development of Liscannor harbour.
