Vol. 365 No. 10

Written Answers. - Grant Payments

140.

asked the Minister for Agriculture when a fertilizer grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The grant will be paid at an early date.

141.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that a person (details supplied) in County Carlow was paid 50 per cent market value of reactor cattle when he recently disposed of thirty head; if he will have the matter investigated with the view of paying full compensation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This person's holding was last restricted due to bovine TB from October 1984 to June 1985. He was paid his full entitlement by way of reactor grants at the time and there is no means of providing further compensation in his case. The price paid for reactors is a matter for negotiation between the herdowner and the slaughtering premises concerned.
