Limerick East): I am aware of the high level of unemployment in Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary, and I can assure the Deputy that the IDA are vigorously promoting the town for suitable industrial projects. I am pleased to say that negotiations are at an advanced stage with an overseas promoter to establish a manufacturing facility in Carrick-on-Suir.
In the replacement of former industries in the area, negotiations are continuing with a view to re-starting production. These discussions are on-going and no final decisions have yet been taken.
