Vol. 366 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Dublin Waste Disposal.

32.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to suggestions outlined in a report in the media (details supplied) that uncontrolled dumping of asbestos waste is taking place at the Ballyogan tiphead in south County Dublin; whether he will investigate the matter; and if the suggestions are found to be correct, the action open to him to eliminate this health hazard to local residents.

The management and supervision of waste disposal operations in their area is a matter for Dublin County Council. I understand from the county council that the tiphead at Ballyogan is closely monitored and supervised at all times by local authority personnel and that there is no dumping of asbestos waste at Ballyogan.
