Vol. 366 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

33.

Mr. Cowen

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Offaly whose water supply from a well on his housing site is polluted, is entitled to a grant regarding the provision of a second water supply on his site by boring a second well on the site.

The person named should submit a completed application form for a house improvement grant for consideration in the normal way. Subject to the various other conditions of the scheme being complied with, an inspection would be arranged at that stage to determine his eligibility for a grant.

34.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of house improvement grant applications for the 1985 scheme submitted from County Louth to date; and the number of approvals for pre-25 February 1986 applications issued.

The information requested is as follows: Number of applications — 1,773; Number of approvals in cases where dispensation from the prior inspection requirement was given — 599.

35.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a house improvement grant application inspection will be held before the second week in May in view of the urgent circumstances involved for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

The file in this case is with my Department's inspector and an inspection is being arranged.
