Vol. 366 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

36.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who has applied for a house improvement grant will be approved for the replacement of windows and doors; and if he will rectify an error on his application.

It is a condition of the house improvement grants scheme that any necessary repairs to the fabric of a house must be carried out before a grant for such work as the replacement of windows/doors can be considered. Following a recent inspection, it has been established that the position in this case is that extensive repairs to the house are necessary. The issue of grant approval will, accordingly, be conditional on the carrying out of such repairs for which the applicant may, if he wishes, seek a grant.
