Vol. 366 No. 6

Written Answers - Salmon Fishing Licence.

43.

asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry the reason a salmon licence was not issued to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The application from the person named was received by the Western Regional Fisheries Board, which is responsible for the allocation of salmon fishing licences in the area, in March 1986.

Under the Control of Fishing for Salmon Orders, 1980 and 1982, the latest date for the receipt of completed application forms is 30 November immediately preceding the commencement of the salmon fishing season to which the applications relate. As the application referred to was received four months after the statutory closing date, it was, in accordance with the terms of the orders, rejected by the board.
