Vol. 366 No. 8

Written Answers. - Tax Refund.

92.

asked the Minister for Finance the reasons that a tax refund has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; if he will now pay this refund immediately; if so, the amount of payment; the date on which payment will be made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer has claimed a repayment of tax deducted from a lump sum payment which he received on termination of his employment in August 1980. However, the inspector is not in a position to deal with the claim until he receives certain information which was requested from the taxpayer in July 1981 and in December 1981 when he called to the tax office. The inspector will now communicate again with the taxpayer in the matter.
