Vol. 366 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant and Mortgage Subsidy Payments.

58.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a house improvement grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

An inspection is being arranged with a view to the approval of a grant. The question of payment will arise if it is established, in due course, that the works as approved have been satisfactorily completed.

59.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the second moiety of mortgage subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13 who has had to wait for over 18 months for the payment of the first moiety and the second moiety is now due; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The application for a new house grant and mortgage subsidy in this case was received in the Department on 9 January 1986 and the new house grant has been paid. The mortgage for the house was executed in September 1985. Accordingly, the first instalment of the mortgage subsidy will fall due for payment when the applicant submits the relevant claim form fully certified by his lending agency to the effect that 12 month's repayments have been made.
