Vol. 367 No. 5

Air Navigation and Transport (Preinspection) Bill, 1986: Order for Second Stage.

Bill entitled an Act to make provision with respect to the implementation by the Government of an Agreement with the Government of the United States of America relating to the preinspection in the State of persons travelling by air to the United States of America; to amend the Air Navigation and Transport Act, 1950; and to provide for other matters connected with the foregoing.

I move: "That Second Stage be ordered for Friday, 6 June 1986 at 10.30 a.m."— all stages to be concluded at 4.30 p.m.

By agreement with the Whips.

Perhaps we should give notice at this stage that if the Government propose to railroad this motion through the House against the decision of the Committee on Procedure and Privileges the Government need not count on our co-operation on any of these matters.

It is subject to agreement that all Stages be concluded at 4.30 p.m.

It is not a matter of anyone wishing to railroad business through the House. The Whips have a very amicable arrangement on all such matters. They have been working well together and propose to continue to do so.

We will see.

I understand that it is agreed to take all stages of No. 2 next Friday, subject to agreement between the Whips.

Question put and agreed to.
