Vol. 367 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Liability.

85.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 who received a £10 increase in his CIE pension was then stopped £12.57 per week in tax resulting in an overall reduction in income; and if he will review this case.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissions that the taxpayer has not completed a return of income/claim for allowances form since 1978/79. The inspector of taxes wrote to him on 12 February 1985 requesting him to complete a return of income form for 1984-85 but there has been no response from the taxpayer. In the circumstances the inspector will now communicate with him again in the matter.
