Vol. 367 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Donegal Road Grants.

36.

asked the Minister for the Environment the 1986 road grant allocation for county roads and for regional roads in County Donegal.

The following are the road grant allocations notified to Donegal County Council for 1986:

£000's

Major Improvement Works

3,120

Other Specific Improvement Works

1,180

Block Grant

1,040

Maintenance

978

In the case of county councils, the block grant allocation may be used to supplement the local authority's own resources for the improvement, maintenance and management of regional roads and for improvement works on county roads.

The road grant commitments notified in 1986 include special grants totalling £782,000 in respect of works on regional and county roads. Expenditure incurred on foot of these commitments falls to be recouped from the allocation of £1,180,000 for "other specific improvement works".
