Applications for grant-aid in 1986 including a number from organisations in County Kildare are under consideration at present and I hope to be in a position to announce a decision on these applications shortly.
I must point out however, that a total sum of £1.2 million is available in 1986 to meet existing commitments and for allocation to new projects under this scheme. A large number of grant approvals in 1985 have involved the carry-over of heavy commitments to 1986 and because of this it will be possible to assist only a small number of new projects this year.
